| Installation is easy |
Client-based software requires no change to existing network installations. |
Logging onto Windows 2000/XP and Windows networks is accomplished according to standard Windows
protocols and is handled by a customized version of the Microsoft log on process, which runs in a
protected Windows workspace. |

How it works |
Users only have to remember one PIN number to gain access to the data on their smart card. |
Sphinx Log On cards securely store all other user names and passwords for log on to Windows, networks, websites, and applications. |
Users log onto Windows by inserting the Sphinx Log On card into the smart card reader and entering the PIN number.
The Windows username, password, and domain are sent from the Sphinx Log On card to the Windows log on process securely
and user is logged on automatically. |
Users log on to websites or applications by double-clicking on each entry in Sphinx and clicking the "Log On Now" button.
Usernames and passwords are sent securely from the Sphinx Log On card to the website or application and user is logged on. |
| Double Protection |
Sphinx user data is encrypted and stored securely on the smart card, so it cannot be copied, stolen or accessed by others. |
| High Level of Security and Portability |
Because users do not have to remember their password, the password can be randomly generated, use longer strings,
and can be changed frequently for additional security. |
Sphinx Log On does not archive user data on the computer, the network or on the Internet. However, the user can
encrypt and control a back up on the PC if they choose. |
Sphinx user data (stored on the smart card) can be used for other Sphinx installations (home, office, laptop). |
Reasons to Secure your PC: |
If you work in a public environment (like an open cubical) and you want to make sure no one else will have access to your PC. |
If you are working on company documents (like financial or accounting) that you do not want anyone else to be able to access or delete. |
If you are working on legal documents for clients that must be kept confidential. |
If you are traveling with a laptop and you want to make sure that your work is safe and secure in case your laptop is lost or stolen. |
If you work at home and you want to secure your PC from your children. |
| Safety Backup Features |
The back up feature allows the cardholder to backup all of their Sphinx Log On information to store in a safe place in case the smart
card is lost or damaged. |
| Versatility |
Multiple users can use the same Sphinx installation without compromising security. |
Sphinx Log On pops up when the user navigates to a log on location; or, the user can configure Sphinx to only pop up when the user selects. |
Sphinx Log On can generate random passwords of definable lengths and types of characters. |
| Convenient |
Because the Windows password is securely stored on the smart card, the cardholder does not need to know it and thus cannot give it away. |
Cardholder can save log on information for multiple domains on the same Sphinx Log On card. |
Windows "secure screen saver" and "lock workstation" functions can be unlocked with the Sphinx Log On card and by entering a card PIN number. |
| Quick Log On |
Simply insert your Sphinx Log On card to log on (you can choose to use a pin number or not.) |
