The readers are based on the 13.56 MHz contactless smart card
(RFID) technology and are compliant with ISO specifications 14443
A and B. The readers are ranked as the highest in interoperability

smart cards and passports including, Philips: MIFARE®, DESFire®,
MIFARE ProX®, ATMEL, SHARP and others.
The SCM Microsystems SCR 331-DI PCBA Smart Card Reader is the first reader to be released
that incorporates both contact and contactless capabilites. The SCR 331-DI PCBA is ideal for
any application requiring the use of both interfaces. It is designed for integration
into other electronics.
In addition, the SCR 331-DI PCBA is the industry's first to offer on-board flash.
This enables future firmware and application upgrades in the field.
The SCR 331-DI PCBA is EMV certified.

The CardMan 5121 is a dual interface PC-linked reader that will read/write to both a 13.56 MHz RFID contactless smart card and virtually any contact smart card. The dual interface feature economically supports end-user environments where both contactless and contact smart card technology may be in use.
The CardMan 5121 allows users to experience the convenience, speed, and security of contactless technology for applications including log-on to Windows®, networks, websites, and applications or the secure storage of user names, passwords, and personal information. The use of contactless smart card technology for PC-linked applications is limited only to your imagination!

The Omnikey Cardman 5321 Lite is a PC-linked reader that reads and writes to a 13.56 MHz contactless smart card. It is an economical alternative to the Cardman 5321 for customers that will not be using contact cards. The reader supports contactless smart cards with up to 848kbps in the fastest ISO 14443 transmission mode.

OMNIKEY CardMan 5125 Prox USB
The CardMan 5125 is a dual interface PC-linked desktop reader that reads the unique card number from an HID proximity card and reads / writes to virtually any contact smart card. The CardMan 5125 works with existing HID proximity cards; there is no need to re-badge to implement new applications. The dual interface feature economically supports end-user environments where both HID proximity and contact smart card technology may be needed.
Purpose of a Dual Interface Reader
As needs within the organisation change, the addition of contact smart card capability allows users to increase security and add functionality without upgrading their desktop readers. In addition, the technology design incorporated in the CardMan 5125 meets the requirements of most IT directors and software providers. As the reader is PC/SC and Microsoft® WHQL compliant, proximity capability is easy to integrate.
