PKard for Mac allows U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Mac users, with Common Access Cards (CAC), to access secure government web sites from their personal Mac computer.
PKard for Mac is for single-user, single-computer scenarios, where a Mac user, off the government network, needs access CAC-secured websites. A simple, one-time installation process sets up support for the user’s choice of U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, DoD, Marine Corps, or Navy public-facing websites.
Basic Features:
- Supports all current CAC cards issued by the U.S. Department of Defense, including CAC-NG Gemalto TOPDL GX4 144 and Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5.
- Loads lists of appropriate URLs to provide access to CAC-enabled sites, matching each URL with the required certificate on the CAC.
- Supports Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, v10.6 Snow Leopard, and v10.7 Lion developer preview.
- Supports the Safari web browser.
Advanced Features:
- Multiple services can be selected at once or selected at a later time.
- PKard generates a folder of bookmarks in the Safari web browser named PKard containing the imported URLs and a product support URL.
Conforms to the Following Specifications:
- ISO 7816 standards for Smart Cards.
- U.S. Government: NIST Government Smart Card Interoperability Specification (GSCIS) v2.1, NIST SP800-78-1, Department of Defense DMDC Implementation Guide for Transitional PIV.
